BERMUDA TRIANGLE

BASIC EFFECT：

.Move the clock-hand to any desired time on a small transparent clock.
.Using a long narrow solid object such as a pencil，stirrer or drinkingstraw, penetrate it through the clock-hand and clock.
.Select a different time. Move theclock-hand to this time on the clock
.Again, the solid object is able topenetrate at this new spot!
.There is no opening at the previousspot!

INCLUDED：

.An elegantly constructed transparent clock with a single revolving clock-hand.
.You need to supply a long narrow solid object such as a pencil, a stirrer ora drinking straw.

THEMED PRESENTATION (with suggested patter)：

.Bring along a pencil for the performance. Bring out the clock and say. “Vessels don't simply disappear in Bermuda. They vanish at aparticular time!" Ask a spectator to name any time she wishes. Assumeshe selects 2 o'clock.
.Revolve the clock-hand to the chosen time. “lf you were the vessel -you, Bemmuda and this particular time form a peculiar triangular system. lt is this system that will cause the vessel to disappear.”Take the pencil and pushes it through the trap at the pointer end of theclock-hand. it penetrates both the clock-hand and the clock!
.You continue,“Take another vessel." At this point, turn to another spectator,“For example, you!” “Please point to a different time onthis clock.”
.Revolve the clock-hand to the new time (assume it is 5 o'clock) selectedby the second spectator. As you do so, it can be seen that there is noopening at the original 2 o'clock time spot, “You, Bermuda and 5 o'clockfor another triangular system. This is your peculiar system!” Pushthe pencil through at this new spot - it penetrates both the clock-hand andciock! “You will vanish in Bermuda only at 5 o'clock!”
.“2 o'clock is not your peculiar system.” Show that the “opening" at 2o'clock has magically healed up!
